Lincoln Park Condo

Lincoln Park Condo
Our client asked us to renovate and completely furnish this 2 bedroom condo for her daughter and friend who would be moving here to attend Mount Royal University. She wanted it to be fun and modern for the two 19 year olds. We kept the finishes neutral, for resale, and accented with some key pieces in black and white, and brought in some colour with teals, aqua, and green. The girls have moved in and love their funky new condo!

Premise Design was brought in to provide floor plans for a basement development. That led to updating the main and second floor wall colour, purchasing new furniture and accessories as well as custom drapery. The clients wanted to make their home “grown-up” while still being child friendly.

Dalhousie Residence

Dalhousie Residence
This home was a mix of 1950’s era design and a 1980’s renovation in parts, but had good bones. The new homeowner wanted to create a warm, bright look with an updated version of “Rustic Italian Country” style. She loved the look of rich wood and details, but without the heavy ornateness typical to this style. The look was created with hand-scraped hardwood, antique washes on the beadboard cabinets, simple travertine backsplash, and rich coloured floor tile. Due to budget restraints the existing kitchen layout was kept rather than the original plan of pulling down walls to open the kitchen to the patio doors. The new plan ended up optimizing the one back bedroom into a lovely home office for the homeowner so she can finish writing her novel!

This house was purchased with the intent of renovating it to bring it in line with the other high-end homes in its area. The house was on the market for two days before selling in March 2009, high above the average selling period at that time.

Oakridge Estates Residence

Oakridge Estates Residence
This family home was stuck in the 1970’s with carpet in the bathroom and a too small kitchen and eating area for them. It was dark in the family room and in need of storage and styling. We opened up the kitchen to the family room and designed the kitchen around a large island, perfect for their three kids to eat, play, and do homework on. Windows were added in the family room to give a view to the backyard, a skylight was added to the foyer which sends light also into the basement stairwell, and in the basement all the windows were enlarged. The bathrooms were modernized with floating vanity cabinets and given a classic style with travertine-look porcelain.
